In a daze through the haze of dust and particulate,
I stand on the Stripped of Las Vegas. Naked and known, the sand won't stop. Dunes rise over my feet and my shins and my heart and my chin. Again! Defeated! Our blinded, one sided, battle over desert, over water, over Nature AND us, is lost, is plundered, is dead. The Fountains of Bellagio are choked, don't flow. Carlo stands full Monte, the Venetian is blind. Trump is trumped, Caesar is down. The Imperial, imperially perishes. Not so Grand stands M, G and M. And the Flamingos have flown. Alone. In a daze through the haze of dust and particulate, I stand on the Stripped of Los Angeles. Naked and known, the ocean won't stop. Waves wash over my feet and my shins and my heart and my head. It is dead! Defeated! Our blinded, one sided, battle over Nature AND us. The Patron Saint, feared, finally came, San Andreas. Sunset Stripped naked and painted in red. Wiltshire, a Boulevard, still swimming in sharks. Our last Rodeo, Drives it all home. We've been living in Hollywood. Tinsel and chrome. Alone. Long ago we elected, we selected, we choose Not to rise from the asses. We froze. It was easier. It was fast. It was, pay later, no worries, no pain. So again, Nature looses. So do we. Unless ... Just a few ... Just a few Conscious ... Just a few Conscious Creatives ... Just a few Conscious Creatives Committed ... Just a few Conscious Creatives Committed to Community ... Try again. Again. Let's all try. Again. Let's all try again. It's everything. Marley Porter |
